EGTB AD 2.19  RADIO NAVIGATION AND LANDING AIDS

EGTB AD 2.20  LOCAL AERODROME REGULATIONS

1   Airport Regulations
  1. Aerodrome strictly PPR. Visiting aircraft and helicopters will not be accepted without prior permission being granted by the aerodrome authority. All pilots must receive briefing.

  2. Air-ground communication service provided - 'Wycombe Radio'. No ATC. Pilots are responsible at all times for lookout and traffic separation.

2   Ground Movement
  1. Taxiway Bravo is a grass taxiway that has been reinforced with plastic matting to a width of 6.6 M, there is an inset yellow centre-line and the edges are marked with blue linlaners. Pilots should remain on the matting as the grass is subject to waterlogging.

3   CAT II/III Operations

Not applicable

4   Warnings
  1. The aerodrome is close to the London CTR and situated below the London TMA.

  2. The aerodrome is liable to waterlogging.

  3. Intense gliding takes place on and around the aerodrome. Pilots should maintain a sharp lookout at all times, but particularly when crossing between the main apron (Hold Alpha 3) and the grass Runway 06/24 (Hold Alpha 2). No overhead transits of aircraft due to gliding activity.

  4. Helicopters operate inside fixed-wing circuits.

  5. Non-standard markings on Main Apron do not guarantee wingtip clearance. Pilots should taxi with extreme caution.

5   Helicopter Operations

Not applicable

6   Use of Runways

7   Training

EGTB AD 2.21  NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES

  1. Pilots of departing aircraft are required to conform to strict Noise Abatement Procedures. These are available from the Aerodrome Operator.

EGTB AD 2.22  FLIGHT PROCEDURES

1   Circuits
  1. Circuits variable.

  2. Gliders will be flying a circuit opposite to that in use by powered aircraft.

  3. Joining aircraft are to position to overfly the runway in use at 1200 FT QFE on the runway QDM. When overhead the midpoint of the runway turn left or right (depending on the circuit direction) to level at circuit height 1000 FT QFE on the crosswind leg prior to turning downwind.

  4. Helicopter circuit height 750 FT QFE.

2   Helicopter Operations
  1. Helicopters shall not operate above 50 FT QFE when within 150 M of the runways without permission. All arriving and departing helicopters must contact Wycombe Radio at the ATZ boundary for local aerodrome information. Maximum care is to be exercised when manoeuvring to/from the helipad, 100 M South of visual control room, to avoid the effect of downwash on fixed-wing aircraft and gliders, always maintain a minimum distance of 30 M from any structure. There will be no helicopter hover movements to the South or West of the Southwest corner of the helipad. Helicopters are at all times to avoid flying directly over or within 25 M of parked aircraft and gliders at low level. Helicopters must remain well clear of the housing area East of the Airfield.

3   Local Flying Procedures
  1. Although no part of the Wycombe Air Park ATZ lies within the London CTR the following procedures should be observed:

    1. Pilots operating on a VFR or SVFR clearance in the London CTR and inbound to Wycombe Air Park (or otherwise) must not assume clearance has been given to penetrate the Wycombe ATZ. Pilots must obtain prior permission from Wycombe by RTF;

    2. Pilots requiring a VFR or SVFR clearance to transit the London CTR must remain outside the London CTR until a clearance has been obtained from Heathrow Radar;

    3. Pilots of aircraft flying within the confines of the Wycombe ATZ are responsible for providing their own separation from other aircraft operating within the ATZ.

  2. Gliders and glider tugs are to land beyond the locally agreed 'D' line to deconflict with taxiing aircraft.

4  Visual Reference Points (VRP)
  1. Details of VRPs are available in the consolidated 'Visual Reference Points List' published on the 'Digital Dataset' page of the NATS AIS website, www.nats.aero/ais.
